![]() You don’t have it flaking or even feel like its going to flake. Even when it completely dries off and sets, the skin is smooth. The best part about these shimmer shadows is that since they do not have any flecks of glitter or micro-glitter, etc and just an extremely homogenous mixture, they are very easy to use as an accent shade – basically to draw a thin line (as long as you have steady hands, of course!!) So, for an accent shade, say a thin line on your cut crease or a parallel line to your eye liner, I think this is an easier product to use than the Stila Glitter and Glow or the Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliners. So, it does not accentuate texture on the lids either. ![]() It takes less than a minute to dry down which does give you ample time to blend out the edges softly with your fingers or with a synthetic brush – if you are using it as an eye shadow (not a liner).ĭespite the metallicness, it did not seem to accentuate texture on my lid, nor did it sink into the fine lines on my eyes. On application, you get a homogenous even look and you do not need to go over to make any area look even with the next one. The eyeshadow applies evenly – even as you spread it, it never gets streaky or patchy. It sets fairly fast but not so fast I didn’t have time to blend out plus you can easily build on the color even after it sets without worrying about creasing or patchiness.Texture: The product is a liquid without seeming watery. It spreads easily and adheres to my lid well without creasing or fading for a solid 12 hours of wear in the humidity without a hiccup! The pigment is excellent here and a little goes a long way but you can easily apply more for a richer more intense look should you like. ![]() The formula is creamy and easy to blend! I few dots on my eyes was all I needed to gently buff the color in with my finger. This is totally my kind of shade! It’s a warm golden brown with a liquid metal-like finish that has a lovely flash of sparkle. Stila Vivid & Vibrant Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow in Vivid Smoky Quartz is the shade I have up for review today. Oddly enough, I’d probably have liked it better if they introduced six new Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eyeshadows in the same shades since the pigment is a little sheerer and they would work better as eyeshadow toppers to the eyeshadow duos that launched.Įither way, no matter the formula you choose, this collection was stellar all around. This is by no means a diss on the formula since both products have excellent textures, pigment, and wear. You can layer which creates a certain level of intensity but the intensity isn’t so dramatic that it can’t easily be achieved by simply applying more of the product and not necessarily both products at the same time if that makes sense. I guess Stila thought maybe you’d make use of them by layering but honestly, you can easily buy the shade I’m featuring in this review, Vivid Smoky Quartz, in either the cream eyesahdow formula or the powder and get the same look. I mean the colors are identical to each other. Stila Fall 2018 is a little repetitive shade wise since all six of the shades launched in the Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow formula are also available in six new eyeshadow duos. If you had issues with Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eyeshaow and it wasn’t a formula you liked or enjoyed using or even felt was too sparkly you might want to try this formula since it’s more of a traditional cream eyeshadow in my opinion. Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow is more of a traditional cream eyeshadow with much more pigment compared the Glitter & Glow formula that’s more sparkly and has less pigment. I think it’s a little tiny confusing the way Stila markets these sometimes. Just to clarify the Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow is A LOT different than the Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow. Stila Vivid & Vibrant Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow ($24) are a new range of sparkly cream eyeshadows that launched in six shades for Fall 2018 and are a companion to the Stila Vivid & Vibrant Eyeshadow Duos that also launched recently.
